Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Review

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra redefines what it means to be an Ultra smartphone, surpassing all others in its category. It outshines its predecessor in every aspect, boasting enhanced battery life, faster performance, and superior cameras. However, these advancements come at a premium. While the new AI features enhance functionality, Samsung’s outdated software detracts from the user experience by burying innovative features under complex menus. Despite these challenges, witnessing the Ultra in operation justifies its price tag, with some features bordering on the magical. Nonetheless, there remains ample opportunity for further refinement at the pinnacle of smartphone technology.

Design: Big, Bold, and Titanium

Priced at $1,299, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra reigns as the largest and most premium offering within the S24 lineup. Contrasting its counterparts—the $799 Galaxy S24 and the $999 Galaxy S24+—it distinguishes itself with a distinctive squared-off design, an integrated S Pen stylus, and enhanced camera capabilities that extend its reach.

The S24 Ultra features Corning Gorilla Armor for its display protection, which Corning claims to be the most durable glass it manufactures for smartphones. Additionally, Gorilla Armor is designed to be less reflective, potentially reducing glare by up to 75% in varying lighting conditions. In practice, the Ultra exhibits significantly fewer reflections compared to other phones I’ve tested, giving the screen an almost paper-like appearance.
